How this calculator works

Yearly pay = hourly rate × hours a week × paid weeks a year. A full-time year is 40 × 52 = 2,080 hours, so a salary divided by 2,080 gives its hourly rate.

What it assumes

  • Before tax. The paycheck calculator shows take-home pay after federal, state and payroll taxes.
  • Overtime at time-and-a-half isn't included; it would add to hourly pay.
