No link on this page pays us. When one does, it says so, and it never changes a ranking. How we make money

Terms of Use

RateHerald compares credit cards and bank accounts from the issuers’ and banks’ own terms. Using the site means agreeing to these terms. They’re short, and written to be read.

Information, not advice

Everything on RateHerald, including rankings, values, calculators, the bonus planner and search answers, is general information. It isn’t financial, legal or tax advice, and it doesn’t know your whole situation. Decide for yourself, and ask a qualified professional when it matters. We aren’t a bank, a card issuer, a lender or a broker; we don’t offer, approve or service any product.

How far the figures can be relied on

Each figure comes from the issuer’s or bank’s own pages or documents, with the source and the day we checked it. Offers, rates and fees change, sometimes daily, and we can be behind or wrong. The issuer’s or bank’s own terms are what count: confirm them before you apply or open an account. If you find a mistake, tell us and we’ll fix it and say so.

Values for a “typical spender”, plans and calculator results are estimates from stated assumptions (each page says which). Whether you’re approved, which bonus you get and what you earn are up to the issuer or bank and how you use the product.

Links out, and how we make money

Links to products go to the issuer’s or bank’s own site, which has its own terms and privacy policy. Some links may pay us if you apply; they’re labelled where they appear, and payment never changes a ranking, a value or a plan. How we make money

Your account

An account is optional and free. It keeps your bonus tracker, the cards and accounts you’ve told the planner you’ve had, the planner’s numbers, and, if you add one, your email address for reminders. You sign in with a passkey on your device, or with a link to your email; keep your devices and email secure, since anyone who can use them can use your account. One account is for one person.

What you put in your account is yours: we keep it only to show it back to you, sync it between your devices and send the reminders you ask for, as the privacy page says. You can download it or delete the account, and everything in it, from your account page at any time. We keep encrypted backups for up to 30 days to recover from our own mistakes; a deleted account leaves them as they expire.

Reminders are a convenience, not a guarantee. They depend on the dates and terms you enter and on email being delivered; a missed reminder doesn’t extend any deadline. Keep track of your own deadlines.

Fair use

Use the site for yourself. Don’t try to break or overload it, get around its limits, or reach accounts that aren’t yours. Automated access goes through our API with a key and within its limits; copying the site’s pages wholesale isn’t allowed. We may suspend an account or block access that does any of these.

Changes and ending

We may change or stop any part of the site. If these terms change in a way that matters, we’ll say so on this page with a new date, and tell account holders who added an email. You can stop using the site and delete your account whenever you like.

Limits on our responsibility

The site is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t responsible for decisions you make from it, for figures that have changed since we checked them, for issuers’ and banks’ products or decisions, or for losses that follow from using or being unable to use the site. Nothing here limits rights you have under law that can’t be limited.
