Our pledge
Every number on RateHerald comes with its source. And we never use the tricks that make comparison sites easy to distrust.
RateHerald never
- let payment set a rank, a "best" label, a shortlist or a match. The code that ranks can't see commission data.
- call pay-influenced results objective, or present part of the market as all of it.
- show countdown timers, false scarcity or invented activity.
- claim "pre-approved" or show approval odds we can't back up.
- headline an "up to" figure without its conditions beside it.
- give fees, penalty APRs, the rate after an intro period, intro end dates or "as of" dates less size, contrast or closeness than the headline number.
- fake, buy, filter or selectively ask for reviews.
- put a tool behind an email, phone number or Social Security number.
- shame you for saying no, preselect your consent, or make opting out harder than opting in.
- share your information without your express consent.
RateHerald always
- sorts by a measure of value to you that it names on the page;
- shows where every figure comes from, and when we last checked it;
- corrects mistakes in public, on our corrections page.
How we make money
Today, we don't. How that could change, and what never will.
